Heavy Duty Scooters

The term heavy duty mobility scooters usually can usually refer to three mains aspects:

1. High weight capacity

2. Robust

3. Rough terrain capability

Height Weight Capacity - A normal mobility scooter will have a weight capacity of between 16 to 20 stone, whereas some heavy duty scooter can carry up to 35 stone.

Robust – Some lightweight scooters do not give the appearance of being particularly robust, and if you plan to use your scooter in a slightly rough manner (i.e. mounting pavements, rough terrain etc) then a heavy duty scooter may be more suitable.

Rough Terrain Capacity – Some scooters have been specifically designed to cope with rough terrain, and may include features such as high ground clearance, larger pneumatic tyres with additional grip, suspension etc.

Depending on your requirements, will determine the most suitable scooter. Call our help line for appropriate information.
